Fresh Apple Pie (small)
This is a traditional apple pie made with the crispest apples in season. The sliced apples are mixed with granulated sugar and cinnamon, and are sautéed in butter to create the apple texture and flavor everyone loves. The pie is available with three choices of crust: Full pastry crust, lattice crust, and crumb topping.
The lattice crust is made with two types of King Arthur flour, unsalted butter, fresh eggs, and a touch of sugar to give it the perfect tender, yet flaky, texture.
The crumb topping is made with oatmeal, brown sugar, butter, chopped pecans, and cinnamon, to add a touch of sweet crunchiness to every bite. (Shown herein this photo.)
Try serving apple pie with homemade whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. This pie will stay fresh in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days. It can also be frozen for later use. To refresh refrigerated slices, place the slice in the microwave and cook on high for 30 seconds.
